Collection: IN FOCUS: ANTHONY CIOFFI
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP AND HOW DID YOU END UP "HERE"?
I grew up in a small town in New Jersey called Springfield and attended Rutgers University on a full football scholarship, where I was a four-year starter in one of the nation's top college football conferences (the Big Ten).
Through a lot of hard work and dedication, I made it "here" to the Oakland Raiders.
But I am not finished yet. This "here" is really the beginning of a next, uncertain and exciting chapter of my young life.
WHAT IS IT THAT YOU DO AND WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
I play football and it means everything to me. Being able to play the sport you love for a living is truly a blessing.
WHAT DO YOU IDENTIFY AS YOUR CULTURAL HERITAGE?
My grandparents came here from Italy to follow their American dream, so I identify as a 2nd generation Italian-American.
DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE AND INSPIRATION.
Style? I was just told by a member of our player engagement team that I wasn't allowed to wear sweats to dinner,
so needless to say my style is usually athletic wear. That said, I tend to lean towards urban or street wear.
I usually find style inspiration from other athletes since that's who I'm around most.
When it comes to the football field, my inspiration is found in my grandparents.
They came to America not knowing anyone or what to expect. Despite those challenges, they built a great life and a strong family.
They're example of dedication and hard work is definitely the foundation for my own career.
ANTHONY CIOFFI is a rookie competing for a safety spot with the Oakland Raiders.
